  พี่ขา หนูไม่รู้ว่า เค้าเนื้อหวานเหมือนสัปปะรดหรือเปล่า

หรือว่าเป็นปลาประหลาด ที่เพิ่งพบ ในน่านน้ำสิมิลัน แต่ เช็คดูจากหนังสือ มี 2 ประเภทที่หน้าตาเหมือนกันค่ะ คือ

ได้เถียงกับ มาโกโตะแล้ว ทั้งสองคนสรุปและคาดว่าที่พบน่าจะเป็น Pinecone fish มากกว่า

เพิ่งจะน่าพบ season นี้เองค่ะ มีน้อง Diveleader จาก Seaking บอกน้องนานแล้ว

แต่น้องยังหาไม่เจอค่ะ เพิ่งจะพบ หลังจากที่พีสองสายและทีม SOS กลับไปแล้ว

น้องคิดว่าน่าจะมี คนนำไปเขียนหนังสือท่องเที่ยว เร็วๆ นี้น่ะคะ

เพราะว่าหนูว่า หนูเจอ ช่างภาพของหนังสือท่องเที่ยวของไทย ที่มีชื่อเสียง ไปถ่ายรูป แบบใกล้ชิดเชียวค่ะ

Found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Habitat:Tropical, subtropical, and temperate waters in caves and under ledges; occasionally coral-reef habitats or muddy bottoms. Also known to occur at depths down to 1/2 mile.   
DESCRIPTION
General:The pinecone fish is a relatively small fish that gets its name from its goldish-yellow body color patterned with a brown criss-cross design which gives it the appearance of a pinecone. The body of the pinecone fish is covered with a hard casing containing spines. As a result, it is also called the pineapple fish and the knight-fish. The pinecone fish glows in the dark from patches on side of its jaw due to the presence of luminescent bacteria found there in gelatinous patches. The glow is usually a green color, but occasionally red in older fish.
Natural Diet:Small fish and crustaceans.

BEHAVIOR
Social:The pinecone fish is found in schools of up to 1000 individuals. When threatened, the pinecone fish can cut off the blood supply to side of its jaw, thus turning off the oxygen supply that causes the bacteria living there to glow and allowing the fish to hide in the darkness. The pinecone fish is a poor swimmer because its body is encased in a hard bony armor composed of scales with spines.
Reproduction:The pinecone fish has not been bred in captivity.

Also known as Port and Starboard, Knight Fish.

The Pineapple Fish, really does resemble the fruit that it is named after.  It has a body encased in an armour made up of small plates, each of which has a pointed ridge.   It is a bright yellow, each plate is edged in black.  The lips are black.

They are found in offshore waters off the northern New South Wales and Queensland coasts.  They are usually caught as a by-catch of prawn trawlers but are considered a "trash" fish.

Pineapple fish SHOULD NOT BE EATEN.

Collected from Japan, Monocentris japonica is seldom seen in the trade. This is an exceptionally peaceful species that must be kept only with other mild mannered tankmates, or better still, in a species tank. This is not a particularly dfficiult fish to maintain, but it is not a fish for everyone. Its needs cannot be met in the typical aquarium with active fishes. These fishes live in caves and may hang in the corner of the tank if not provided the proper setting with some large cages in which it can feel comfortable. This fish prefers to feed at night. Providing a dimly lit tank, very peaceful tankmates and offering live foods may help it feed. Initially requires live foods, including small grass shrimp, brine shrimp, tiny livebearers and black worms. Slowly introducing non-living food is challenging, but possible. Public aquariums have kept Pinecone Fishes many years in captivity in the proper setting.

A pinecone fish has a plump, deep body, measuring about 5 in (12.7 cm) long. The body is covered by heavy, platelike scales that overlap, giving the fish the appearance of a pinecone-hence its name. Under each pinecone fish's lower jaw, there are two phosphorescent organs, giving the impression that the fish itself produces light. The light is actually produced by luminous bacteria that have a symbiotic relationship with the fish.

Pinecone fish belong to the Order Beryciformes, which includes 15 families and 143 species of fish, all marine. This order is considered to be a primitive predecessor of perches. Characteristically deep sea fish, most families within the order are small, including fewer than 12 species. Some other forms of Beryciformes are whalefish, squirrel fish, laterneyes, and slimeheads. Pinecone fish belong to the family Monocentridae; there are two genera within the family, Cleidopus and Monocentris, with a total of four species.

Aside from having unusual scales and light producing organs, the fins of pinecone fish are a bit out of the ordinary. First of all, the fish has two dorsal fins located on its back. The first one consists of a series of four to seven stout spines that point alternately to the left and to the right. The second dorsal fin has nine to 12 soft rays. Its pelvic fin, the first fin located on the fish's underside, is composed of a very strong, large spine with two to four small, soft rays.

These fish inhabit the Indian and Pacific Oceans, as far south as South Africa and as far north as Japan. They move in schools at depths of between 98 and 820 ft (30 and 250 m). The Japanese pinecone fish form predatory schools near the bottom of deep waters. Another species is located off of the Australian coast.
